What is the difference between Direct Hire and Managed Service?
+
Direct Hire is a one-off recruitment and placement service — you hire and pay your contractor directly, with no agency in the middle. Managed Service gives you the same recruitment service plus ongoing offshore administration and support around your team, for a fee.
Does TD Hire manage my contractor?
+
No. You manage their day-to-day work, priorities, performance and communication. TD Hire provides the ongoing offshore administration and support around the contractor.
What does Managed Service actually handle?
+
Payment administration, timesheets, invoicing, ongoing support, replacement support and helping you recruit additional offshore professionals as your team grows.
Why would I choose Managed Service?
+
It's designed for businesses that want the agency experience — someone looking after the admin and support behind their offshore team — without handing over control of the work itself.
Why would I choose Direct Hire?
+
If you're comfortable paying and managing your contractor yourself, Direct Hire means you don't pay an outsourcing agency an ongoing margin. You pay one placement fee and go direct.
Can I hire multiple people?
+
Yes. You can start with one professional and add additional team members as your business grows.
Can I change their hours?
+
With Managed Service, hours can be adjusted depending on the contractor, role and agreed arrangement.
What is the contractor's actual hourly rate?
+
You will always see the contractor's actual hourly rate. The rate depends on their experience, skills and the role.
Are your rates the same for every candidate?
+
No. Rates depend on experience, seniority, technical capability, industry experience and the requirements of the role.
How quickly can someone start?
+
Usually ASAP once you've chosen your person — if they're available and don't need to give notice, they can start straight away. Finding and placing your person typically takes 7–14 days.
How many candidates will I see?
+
Typically 3–5 shortlisted candidates after our recruitment team has completed the screening process.
Do you skill-test candidates?
+
Yes, where appropriate. Testing is based on the actual requirements of the role.
Can I conduct my own test?
+
Yes. You can provide a practical test or brief to shortlisted candidates before making your final decision.
Can they work Australian hours?
+
Yes. We can specifically recruit for Australian business-hour availability and required timezone overlap.
How many hours can they work?
+
Hours are agreed up front based on your needs and the contractor's availability. As independent contractors, they set their own working arrangements.
Who pays the contractor?
+
With Direct Hire, you contract with and pay the contractor directly. With Managed Service, TD Hire handles the agreed payment administration and consolidates this into one monthly invoice.
Are they employees of TD Hire?
+
No. TD Hire places independent contractors. They are not TD Hire employees.
What happens if the contractor isn't the right fit?
+
Direct Hire includes a 6-month replacement guarantee. Managed Service includes ongoing replacement support while you remain with the service.
Is there a long-term contract?
+
Direct Hire is a one-off placement. Managed Service has the agreed minimum term outlined in the service agreement.
What if I need another person later?
+
That's exactly what Managed Service is designed to support. You can continue building your offshore team as your business grows.
